Ahhhhh!! basically. That’s all I’ve had to say since the moment I saw his toes sticking out of the bag (he arrived inside a big silky drawstring bag!). I know DC bodies aren’t to everyone’s tastes, but as a long standing fan of art dolls like Etsuko Miura’s, this is the closest I’ll ever be getting to owning something similar. And I couldn’t be happier! He’s absolutely gorgeous. And he’s so incredibly smooth he’s nearly slipped out of my hands twice ;;
christmas tree up （*´▽｀*）
my doll chateau order should arrive tomorrow! She said the wig and eyes would arrive later (I didn’t even know he’d have a wig and eyes, so that’s a pleasant surprise :D) I ordered a body and a head in case Henry doesn’t fit on the body because I’d hate for it to be headless ;; I’m so excited!!
Hello! It takes a bit of time and patience (and care! Be careful ;;), but it’s a very simple process c: Dip the hands in boiling water for a few seconds (I hold them by the pegs with pliers into a pan of water, but pouring water over them may work too), then quickly push the fingers into shape while they’re flexible. This is the tricky part - they don’t stay fully flexible for very long, so you have to work fast. If you only want to move one or two fingers you can just push and hold with something like a pencil. If you want to do something more complicated that involves curled fingers and thumbs.. trial and error. I used hairbands, clothes pegs, paper clips, pliers.. you need to get them all in shape and held securely at the same time. But it’s fine to make mistakes! I must have tried it 20 times before succeeding, but 20 dunks in water did no damage to the hands and they went back to their natural shape each time.
Once you’ve got them fixed, dunk them in cold water and then leave them to sit around for at least 10 minutes just to be sure. I reshaped Abbey’s hands just over five months ago and they’re still holding the shape.
But!! I don’t know how well other doll’s hands will reshape. Lagoona’s webbing would complicate matters, I’m not sure if Spectra’s hands are made of the same flexible material, the boiling water may damage patterned or clear hands etc. I’ve also tried this technique with Ever After High hands and found they wouldn’t set AT. ALL. even after hours of waiting.
(Oops, sorry this got a bit wordy ;; Good luck with your reshaping!)
My attempt at a decora/fairy-kei-ish look, and my last EAH girl :c I love working on these, I hope I can get some more soon

Unfortunately (for Raven, at least!) Apple White sold, so after one date they were separated. The light was better today so I took some photos of her moping around. And doing some strange pose that I’m not sure how she got into or held..
Maddie’s mock up~ I wanted to do something sweet and decora/fairy-kei style to go with her adorable outfit <3
